Another option for implementation of WebPoint requires that a Windows
server be hosted by an ISP in Web Host Location to perform the web-hosting
functions similar to that described in Hosted Setup option, with a medium
speed, reliable connection between the Intouch server at a client site
and the Web server in Web Host Location.
The significant features of this implementation are;
- Requires a Windows Server installed at Web Host Location.
- Requires a medium speed connection, on a specified port, between client
site and the Web Host Location. Data travelling over this connection
is encrypted, with either a proprietary encryption protocol or a stronger,
standards-based protocol, depending upon requirements.
- Requires a medium speed connection, on a specified port, between Web
Host Location and Intouch Data Canter for payment processing. Data travelling
over this connection is encrypted, with either a proprietary encryption
protocol or a stronger, standards-based protocol, depending upon requirements.
- Requires that remote control software, such as VNC, be provided on
the Windows server in Web Host Location, for installation and maintenance
of the Intouch software by Intouch or Client IT Admin staff.
- Requires that an SSL certificate be purchased and installed on the
NT server at WebHost Location. Payment processing for this system can
be performed using Intouch Payments hosted at Intouch Data Center or
client custom pipe to specified payment gateway in Australia, New Zealand
or Asia.
Other Notes
Intouch Data Center;
- Provides payment processing and web services to a number of client
sites. There is a high speed Internet connection and a private connection
to private bank network, with an redundant backup system.
- Provides a primary server and a backup server, with the backup server
providing primary database server functionality. These servers are connected
to uninteruptible power supply, including backup generator in case of
extended power outage.
- Has remote monitoring facilities, with remote control support being
provided from Australia during non-business hours in California.
If desired, the Intouch Data Center system can be configured to host
"ecommerce.{client}.com", or a similar host name, on a spare IP address.
This would require registration of another SSL certificate with Verisign
or similar.
